Day 1: Vilnius

Arrival in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
Meet & greet at the airport.
Bus transfer to the hotel, check-in.
Welcome dinner in hotel.
Overnight in Vilnius.

 

Day 2: Vilnius

Enhance your experience of Vilnius’ enchanting Old Town on a guided tour (3 hrs). Stroll the ambient tangle of streets and gain fascinating insight into the city’s history visiting Vilnius Cathedral and its square, the University campus, Pilies street with historical and architectural monuments, Gothic corner of Vilnius with St. Anne’s and Bernardine churches, the former Town Hall square, the Gate of Dawn with a miraculous icon of Virgin Mary.

Lunch in the city.

Transfer to the hotel and free time in Vilnius.

To fall in love with Vilnius is easy – art galleries, a variety of museums, wonderful culinary journeys in gourmet restaurants, cozy evenings in the small Old Town pubs, green parks, and unexpected experiences. Take a walk along cozy winding streets, and explore the colorful life of Vilnius, admire the magnificent architecture and uniqueness of the modern and contemporary city.

Dinner with folklore show in the city.

Life experience will make the travel memories last forever. Be invited to taste ethnic Lithuanian delicacies, surprise yourself with new tastes, to indulge in a variety of local drinks, play the drums or sing a part in a live folk music performance and get your legs loose in ethnic dancing. You will have the opportunity to taste national cuisine meals and watch, listen and participate in the professional folk band show.

Day 3: Vilnius – Trakai – Kaunas

Morning visit Trakai, the former capital of Grand Duchy of Lithuania, with its beautiful insular castle of the 14th century, situated on an island in the middle of a lake. Today it is a historical Museum of Trakai with five picturesque lakes around. The unique location on the peninsula surrounded by five lakes has dubbed itself the “town on the water”.

During tour to Trakai you will also get acquainted with the story of small ethnic group Karaim. This small group has retained a separate identity in a diverse cultural milieu for well over 600 years, maintaining its language, traditions and religion.

Lunch with culinary session making and tasting of traditional Karaite dishes in Trakai.

Your trip continues to the second largest city in Lithuania – colorful, modern, and constantly changing city of Kaunas. Enroute visiting Pazaislis Monastery founded in the middle of the 17th century by Camalduli monks on the banks of the man-made Kaunas Sea. At the monastery, one can admire a famous miraculous image of Virgin Mary.

Day 4: Kaunas 

Morning Kaunas City tour.

A small and compact city, nevertheless, full of original architectural sites, dating back to various historical periods, attracts travelers with its unique cultural heritage sites: impressive remains of Kaunas Castle, Vytautas the Great Church which located in a very beautiful place – on the right bank of the Nemunas river, Kaunas Town Hall Square, called the white Swan, the Laisves aleja pedestrian avenue (the Avenue of Liberty), which is the main shopping and dining street of Kaunas, and much more! For those who are interested in art, there is a possibility to visit the Museum of Devils and the Art Museum of M. K. Ciurlionis, the known Lithuanian painter, composer and writer.

Afternoon excursion to IX fort.

The Ninth Fort is one of the defences of Kaunas fortress and a historical museum where visitors may learn about interesting and distinctive architecture, weaponry and accoutrements of World War I of Kaunas Fortress defences. There is a big exposition in authentic cells on the walls of which you may see people’s dying records and repressions performed by NKVD and reveals the extent of Nazi’s crimes. it reveals Jews’ tragedy in Lithuania and tells the story of Kaunas Ghetto and massacre.

Before dinner you will visit Volf Engelman brewery and have an opportunity to see how beer is brewed or even participate in the production process. Besides beer creation will be not the only thing we shall improvise with – after excursion you will have a tasting of different sorts of beer.

Day 5: Kaunas – Siauliai – Palanga

Morning drive to Palanga, Lithuania’s prime resort.

Enroute a stop at the famous Catholic pilgrimage site – the Hill of Crosses near Siauliai, where people donated thousands of crosses and rosaries to God thanking him for his mercy.

Arrival and lunch in Palanga.

In Palanga you will visit the Amber Museum, the best place to learn the history of amber, known as the Baltic gold. You will also take a walk through the park to the beach where you can enjoy a walk along the breach to the main pedestrian J. Basanavicius Street of the town full of cafes and restaurants.

Day 6: Palanga – Curonian Spit – Klaipeda – Palanga

Klaipeda, the oldest and third biggest city in Lithuania, located on the Curonian Lagoon and The Baltic Sea. The harbour town of Klaipeda will inspire you by its cozy, charming cultural and historical corners of the Old Town: Theatre square and the statue of a girl Ann from Tharau, many old streets and buildings, Linden street with the old post-office, Mazvydas Sculpture Park and many more.

Lunch in Klaipeda.

In the afternoon, you will take a ferry to Nida – a small town of the white sand dunes in Lithuania, located on the peninsula of the Curonian Spit. The Curonian Spit, with the Baltic Sea on one side and the Curonian Lagoon on the other, is a unique nature reserve and is often referred to as the Lithuanian Sahara Desert due to its impressive sand dunes. You will see hazy pine forests clasp Parnidis Dune, which is the largest on the peninsula, Nida village with its brightly painted wooden houses and puffing fish smokeries.

In the evening you will take a ferry back to the mainland.

Farewell dinner in Palanga.

Day 7: Palanga

Free time in the morning. Check-out, lunch.
Transfer to Palanga airport. Departure. OR
Return to Vilnius, transfer to Vilnius airport. Departure.
