If we need to describe Kaunas in one word, the most accurate probably would be colorful. It is a modern, constantly changing city of creative people and original ideas. During this weekend getaway to Kaunas, we will offer you to choose one of the most interesting thematic tours and discover the brightest colors of this city!
Choose a tour Traces of the Hanseatic League during which you will go to the historical journey to the 15th-17th centuries of Kaunas. You will find out in which part of the city foreign merchands lived, see their houses of worship, will take a walk in the territory of the old market and old port. Or maybe you want to be a part of the tour called Secrets of the Old Town? Participating in this one, you will get to see all the main cultural heritage sites and remember the history of the city from ancient times up to the 19th century. You are more interested in buildings and War? Choose a tour of Interwar Architecture and see interesting “national style” architecture examples, objects built in the style of historicism and modernism, and admire the architecture of residential houses of that time.
Green and lively Kaunas can be revealed during an independent bicycle trip. For those who eagers to admire the views of the river surrounded by little forests, we offer to try an exceptional beauty route from the Old Town to the Panemunė Forest Park. Pažaislis bicycle path, on the other hand, will be perfect for ones looking for romance. If you have more time in Kaunas and want a longer trip, we offer to choose the trails leading to the picturesque places around the city – Kulautuva, Kačerginė, Raudondvaris or Zapyškis. And for ones who would like to freshen up with a swim in the lake on a hot summer evening, we recommend a route from the Old Town to Lake Lampėdis.
