Great news – Lithuania welcomes tourists from all countries across the globe again! We are happy to announce that travelers who are already immune to COVID-19 can already arrive without mandatory self-isolation!
As most touristic attractions are open in Lithuania, travelers can explore the country easily and only with minimal restrictions – below we present the rules of entry into Lithuania for foreign guests and some other useful links.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO COME TO LITHUANIA AND AVOID TESTING AND SELF-ISOLATION?
Testing and self-isolation requirements will not apply to those:
- holding a medical document, a country-specific vaccination certificate or an international vaccination certificate confirming the full vaccination with one of the COVID-19 vaccines (COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen, Comirnaty, COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna, and Vaxzevria).
- holding a medical document confirming that they recovered from coronavirus diagnosed on the basis of a positive COVID-19 PCR test or an antigen test and that maximum 180 days have passed from the positive testing until the return/entry to Lithuania.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO BEFORE COMING TO LITHUANIA FROM ABROAD?
Before arriving in Lithuania, you must fill in the questionnaire on the NPHC website and present the received confirmation – QR code – to the carrier before boarding the vehicle or, if traveling by own vehicle, to the NPHC specialists or other officials at the border control point or passenger control point.
WHO NEEDS TO SELF-ISOLATION UPON ARRIVAL IN LITHUANIA?
Everyone arriving to Lithuania from affected countries, who can’t prove they have recovered from COVID-19 or have been fully vaccinated, will be required to self-isolate for 10 days from the date of arrival to the Republic of Lithuania and be tested for COVID-19 disease (even if the test result is negative). The test must be taken at maximum 72 hours before the entry to Lithuania or in Lithuania (registration for a test within 24 hours from arrival, travellers by air or sea will be registered by the NPHC staff at an airport or seaport concerned).
It is possible to shorten the self-isolation period by taking a COVID-19 test, at personal expense, on the 7th day of the self-isolation at the earliest, and receiving a negative response. If you choose to shorten the isolation period, you must complete this online form after receiving the negative COVID-19 result.
